- Summary
- Annie Zook, the only daughter of an Old Order Amish preacher, having passed up one chance at marriage, is torn between doing what is expected of her as a member of the Plain community, and her burning desire to be an artist
- Summary
- Annie Zook's greatest passion is drawing, but it's forbidden by her father, an Old Order Amish preacher in Paradise, Pennsylvania. She must even sacrifice marriage and happiness with the love of her life, Rudy Esh, in order to secretly practice her art. But when longtime pen pal, fellow artist and "Englisher" Louisa Stratford visits seeking solace after a broken engagement, Annie must come to terms with her unhappiness and decide whether to stay with her Plain community or pursue her dream
